My Seal-A-Meal worked great for several years, but suddenly stopped sealing. Unlike one of the other reviewers, I had an excellent experience with Rival. I sent one email, got a prompt response, mailed my unit back to Rival with $10 for handling and Rival immediately sent me a new unit. Can't ask for better than that!

Saving America's food, money, and time for over 35 years by keeping food fresher longer, the Seal-A-Meal is simple to operate and clean. It's equipped with Microban anti-bacterial material to inhibit the growth of bacteria and keep the unit cleaner. You can choose to simply seal or to vacuum seal with the push of a button.The Rival VS110 Seal-a-Meal lets you preserve your leftovers, bulk foods, and important documents far more effectively than using zipper-lock bags or plastic wrap. Oxygen and moisture are the mortal enemies of fresh food and other items; therefore, it stands to reason that the best way to preserve such items is by removing the oxygen. That's exactly the approach of the Seal-a-Meal, which vacuums oxygen out of included pre-cut plastic bags or rolls, then seals the plastic with its bag cutter. Now you can keep not only food fresh for far longer, but also treasured photographs, collectible books, birth certificates, or even certain items of clothing. The Seal-a-Meal comes with more than 50 feet of high-density bags, along with an integrated bag/roll holder and cutter. The unit uses Microban antimicrobial protection to inhibit the growth of stain- and odor-causing bacteria, though it will not protect the user from food-borne illnesses. As an added bonus, the sealer offers an accessory port that connects to the separately sold Universal Sealer, which seals items in canisters and mason jars.
